Winter Lights Festival 2015

Winter Lights 2015

PERTH, Australia, 6 July 2015: The ever-popular winter light festival returns again to Brookfield Place this July. Innovative light installations, grand-scale projections and interactive light displays will illuminate the Brookfield Place precinct, starting on Thursday, 9 July.

Neon themed projections; featuring vibrant 3D animations, will light up the heritage buildings on St Georges Terrace from 5.30pm each evening. In addition to previous years, passers-by are encouraged to walk through the precinct and enjoy new installations such as an interactive screen, which captures images of the participants and projects them into a kaleidoscopic light display.

West Australian artist Tom Muller’s works will also be on display in the walkway between Angel’s Cut by The Trustee and Aradise Hair. Made of individual glass neon tubes, the suspended light-based artwork is representative of a creative cosmic cluster.

For those who wish to continue to bask in the night-lights, Print Hall’s award winning food and beverage will be available in the unique Pop-Up venue at the centre of the Winter Lights activity from 4pm to midnight, Thursday to Saturday, during the 10-day light festival.

Winter Lights is a signature event on the Arts Brookfield calendar each year, attracting thousands of visitors from across Perth, who crave bright lights during the cool, winter months. Arts Brookfield aims to enliven public spaces. The award-winning international arts and events program, Arts Brookfield, presents hundreds of world-class visual art and performances for free to thousands of people each year in public spaces at Brookfield’s premier buildings around the world.

Brookfield Place comes to light from Thursday, 9 July through to Sunday, 19 July and is a free event. We encourage visitors to share their photos on social media using the hash tag #LightUpBrookfield.
